Aberdeenshire farm boasts 316 acres
Strutt & Parker remains confident that a buyer will be found for Upper Braiklay Farm at Methlick, Aberdeenshire, after a deal fell through this week.
The property has been recently modernised, and has a farmhouse, cottage, 11,500sq m of covered buildings and about 316 acres of good land. Tom Stewart-Moore of Strutt & Parker reckoned the farm would still be under offer by Christmas.
The guide price is £2.5m, plus the cottage at £275,000.
Local investor buys Shropshire land
Shropshire auctioneer Halls sold about 98 acres of Grade 2 and 3 land currently in arable use near Oswestry for £585,000 (£5969/acre). The land at Berghill Farm, Whittington, was bought by a local farming family. "With interest rates set to drop considerably further in the New Year, temptation to invest in a stable commodity such as land is likely to harden even further," said Halls director David Giles.
