EBLEX report on livestock's crucial role on landscape

Thursday 02 February 2012 10:53

EBLEX’s landscapes without livestock report highlights the crucial role livestock plays in maintaining the English countryside.

The report showcases the possible impact on some of England’s most well known landscapes, including Romney Marsh and the North York Moors, if beef cattle and sheep flocks declined as a result of the industry becoming unsustainable.

It was compiled with input from farmers, ecologists, landscape specialists and experts from EBLEX.

Panoramic photographs of each landscape in its current state were taken and additional photomontages were produced at year three, year 10 and year 30 to illustrate the visual impacts of the changes at each location if livestock were reduced or removed altogether.
