Rescue aid can't come too quick for Dakota combines...

These photos show a little predicament James Irving from Milton Keynes got into last year while working the harvest in North Dakota, USA.

 

The first photo shows his combine sinking into the very wet headland, whilst attempting to reverse onto the field. The header is resting on the road, which prevented the combine sinking deeper.

 

The second photo shows James’s boss using another combine to try and pull him out, alas he also ended up sinking further into the soft soil.

 

Three hours later help arrived in the form of an articulated Case tractor, which managed to get them out before darkness fell.

 

James says that the same thing happened about 30 minutes later further down the field, it never rains but it pours…
