JCB's attempt to break the diesel land speed record is on
track.
The DieselMax car - powered by a pair of JCB's own
twin-turbocharged four-pot diesel
engines - completed its final round of testing
this week at
RAF Wittering,
Lincolnshire, and reached a top speed of 201mph on the 1.6-mile
runway.
It is expected to top 300mph later this month on the
Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA. We will have
a full trackside report from the event.
