Rugby livestock market has been thrown a lifeline by the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
The market was due to close at Christmas because the council sold off its site. Now the RASE has offered a group of farmers and investors a 99-year lease to relocate the auction mart at the Royal Showground, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
It is expected to cost the group £600,000 to convert the existing sheep buildings.
