Ken Boyns takes over from Kevin Bellamy who is going to Chicago as chief executive of the Global Dairy Platform.
Mr Boyns said he would be focusing on the transition to the new levy board structure and maximising the impact of the 0.06p/litre levy paid by dairy farmers on improving profitability.
