Norfolk farmers are being asked to share their waste reduction ideas as part of a competition.
Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Rural Business Advice Service at Easton College are asking Norfolk's farmers to send in their top farm waste saving tips - no matter how small - in an effort to raise awareness of the benefits of good farm waste management.
The winning entry will receive a luxury hamper packed with local produce and there will also be prizes for two runners-up.
The best ideas for reducing farm waste will appear in a farm waste minimisation publication in April 2007.
Ideas can be as simple as reusing an old tractor tyre as a yard scraper, or reducing waste by using a silage clamp instead of individually wrapping bales.
Application forms are available from the Norfolk County Council website. The closing date for the competition is 31 January 2007.
