It’s going to be an exciting day for people who like a flutter this Saturday, not only is the Grand National on at Aintree but there is an alternative sheep race being held at Abbotsham, North Devon.
There will be six runners with knitted toy riders ready to pit their wits against each other and it could be anyone’s race.
Betting will be brisk and last year’s winner Alderknitty could stand a good chance - however Honest Joe the bookmaker will be happy to take punters’ money before these racing stars including Red Ram, Golden Fleece and Woolly Jumper negotiate Shepherd's Brook, Bo Peep's Bend and the EWE Turn in their quest for glory.
