Farming needs young, innovative people to develop tomorrow’s agricultural businesses like never before.
An ageing farming workforce, increasing pressure on farmgate prices and spiralling costs have left the industry in a precarious state. And with further removal of support payments within sight, it will be those able to spot an opportunity in the market that will survive.
This is the theme behind a groundbreaking new event for farming’s future entrepreneurs, to be held at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, on 1 May.
The Future’s in Your Hands, a one-day seminar organised by The Red Meat Industry Forum, a host of sponsors and supported by Farmers Weekly, will bring together tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and leading industry figures.
Meet agriculture’s most successful young entrepreneurs
Learn from dynamic industry leaders from every sector
Be inspired to create new opportunities and ideas
Drive change in our industry
Share your views with other, like-minded individuals to develop new and powerful ideas
If you’re 25-35 and working in farming or agricultural business, The Future’s in Your Hands event offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn how you can shape your business – and your future career – by drawing on the experience of high achievers already making a significant contribution.
The day begins withy the chance to hear from three of the industry’s top young farmers whose innovation and passion for winning have driven them to build successful businesses.
Informal break-out sessions, facilitated by industry leaders, will give you the chance to examine in-depth the problems facing farm businesses and the opportunities for successful new ventures. A team of industry professionals will help you navigate your way through the tough business environment of modern agriculture, and explore how to turn a good idea into an industry success.
Finally, these groups will give their solutions – and their vision – to the rest of the delegates, as well as getting the chance to question key decision makers about the future of farming in this country.
And a dedicated area of Farmers Weekly’s own internet forums – www.fwi.co.uk/forums - will give delegates the crucial online space to network and share ideas on the future of the industry.
