Two Young Farmers travelling around Britain by tractor to promote the organisation's 75th anniversary year are making good progress.
Dan Halliday and Bryce Mackellar, both National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs vice-chairmen of council, set off from the New Holland tractor plant in Basildon, Essex, on their New Holland T7040 Tractor on 27 June.
They are planning to travel to the most Eastern, Northern, Western (Wales) and Southern points of England and Wales and crossed the Pennines early this morning (28 June), having already visited Lowestoft and Berwick-Upon-Tweed.
After further stops at St. David’s in Wales later today and Lizard Point in Cornwall tomorrow, the pair plan to conclude the trip with a parade in the main ring at the Royal Show in Warwickshire on Sunday (1 July).
The tractor will be run on B100 biofuel, which has been donated by Petrochem Carless Limited.
The aim is to up the profile of YFC and raise money for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
Why not send a message of support on the forums? You can also sponsor the pair by visiting the official donation site.
Here are some pictures from their journey so far:
An early start and a long way to go, but at least the sun was shining...
Just time to stop-off in East Riding...
After an overnight stop in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, it's time to head south, crossing the Pennines...
The T7040 will be running on 100% biodiesel...
