Kuhn chose Agritechnica 2007 to show farmers its big Moduliner power harrow/drill combination, which brings an element of flexibility and adaptability to larger, more unwieldy drilling machines.

The six-metre Moduliner combines a heavy-duty rotary powerharrow with one of two crumbler-roller designs. This is linked to a 2800l or 3500l hopper mounted on a central undercarriage, coupled to either a standard seeding module or precision seed drill. The end result is a versatile 6-metre tool for the large-scale farmer and contractor that can be adapted to a series of crops and tillage conditions.

The tail section features 40 Seedflex seeding discs arranged in a parallelogram and variable depth control wheels.

Two hydraulically controlled meters regulate either seed delivery (to the coulter bar) or can determine fertiliser application through the precision seeder.

The machine is controlled by a single electronic joystick and integrated headland management makes for easy operation.

Overall, the Moduliner is designed to be run in three configurations – with or without its power harrow and roller, with the precision seeder or conventional system, or both, and requires a tractor of at least 200hp.

Kuhn expects the machine to find homes on farms in the UK, France, Denmark, Germany and Eastern Europe.
