Test results on 30 dead turkeys on a second unit managed by Redgrave Poultry, the company at the centre of the current H5N1 avian (bird) flu outbreak, have come back negative

These dead turkeys were on one of the four additional units currently being culled by DEFRA vets as a precautionary measure. It means that DEFRA's testing has shown no evidence of avian flu at any of the five farms other than Redgrave Park

Geoffry Buchanan, operations manager at Redgrave Poultry also confirmed that culling has been completed at Grove farm and officials have now begun the culling of birds at Hill Meadow farm this morning and has indicated that it anticipates starting the culling at Stone House and Bridge farms later today.

"We are fully supporting DEFRA and the Veterinary Laboratories Agency in the continued investigation to identify the cause of the outbreak."
