DEFRA secretary Hilary Benn is set to make an announcement over whether to implement a badger cull to control bovine TB at 3.30pm.
Mr Benn is widely expected to ignore calls for a cull, a decision which goes against the government's former chief scientific advisor Sir David King.
The NFU said it would be "disastrous" for the industry if DEFRA did decide against a badger cull.
