Fertiliser's role in causing climate change is increasingly under the spotlight.
In this video, Cedric Porter discusses fertiliser and climate change with David Stacey, the commercial director of GrowHow and the fertiliser sector chairman of the Agricultural Industries Confederation.
They determine how big an issue climate change is for UK farmers, highlighting evidence of change already seen on farm, but also stressing that fertiliser helps farmers produce plentiful supplies of grain and grass very efficiently.
David also describes the measures that GrowHow is taking to reduce its environmental impact and explains how farmers can do the same through the more targeted use of fertiliser.
Finally, he explains that tackling climate change will require much greater partnership between all the members of the food chain.
