McCormick’s popular CX range of tractors is to get the four-post cab currently fitted to higher horsepower McCormick XTX and TTX models. It will be included as part of the Deluxe option on the 80-102hp general-purpose models.
McCormick has also upgraded the spec of the CX SynchroShift and CX XtraShift tractors by fitting Perkins 1104-44 series engines that meet Tier 3 emissions legislation.
The single-disc brakes were also changed for a more powerful twin-disc set-up. The first tractors with the new cabs are expected in the UK late spring.
The new design will be an alternative to the low-profile conventional cabin.
Apart from giving the machine a new look inside and out, drivers will get better visibility from the higher-specification unit, especially to either side, because the fully-glazed doors fill both sides of the structure.
As before, the CX ‘T3’ tractors cab will be available with a choice of two transmissions.
* A simple Synchro 16x8 transmission with two powershift speeds plus a synchro-shuttle forward/reverse selection.
* The XtraShift 24x24 transmission with three powershift speeds and a power shuttle.
