It's not many business ideas that come from a vole.
But this is how Philip Price's unique idea was born - he was
taking pictures of some of the creatures when he realised the
potential of giving people a fun wildlife-based experience using
photography.
The idea has allowed him to combine his love of nature and
photography skills.
Loch Visions offers wildlife and digital photography experiences
and tuition at Lock Awe, Oban. It is aimed at the mass market - for
literally anyone who fancies a day out - and Philip provides all
equipment so catering for any standard of photographer.
Clients spend time in purpose-build photographic zones in a 22
acre wild woodland on the banks of the loch, plus get photography
advice in the studio.
"Philip has set up a thriving small business that gives people
the chance to take home a bit of Scotland's natural beauty in the
form of photographers," say the judges. "He has also created a
sustainable and creative local business, with a strong emphasis on
respecting the countryside that supports his work and other local
services wherever possible."
