Farmers Weekly interactive has been voted the
Business Website of the Year by thePeriodical Publishers
Association.
The awards, which recognise editorial excellence, took place on
30 June and are seen as the Oscars of the publishing world.
Judges for the PPA Awards were impressed by the way FWi had got
farmers involved in forum discussion and sharing pictures
online.
They said: "FWi has taken a number of steps to address the
specific needs of the farming community, using all the tools
currently available to enhance the reader experience."
It is the third time that FWi has been selected by independent
judges as a winner.
In 2008 the site was rewarded for its social media forums on
fwispace.co.uk when it beat the Sun's website to win the
Association of Online
Publishers Online Community of the Year award. Farmers
Weekly journalists were also named Online Team of the Year a
few weeks ago in this year's AOP Awards.
