Based on the original Aitchison slot-drill concept, Sim-Tech T-Sem drills are now fitted with Sulky seed hoppers, metering systems and control boxes to enable proper tramlining and the option to vary seed rates.
On the hardware front, plain discs cut slots ahead of three banks of inverted-T coulters mounted on heavy pig-tail tines. These are followed by a spring press roller that firms the soil to either side of each slot. A heavy chain then acts as a following harrow, sweeping tilth into the slot and levelling things off.
Available in 3-6m working widths, the T-Sem can be used in a range of conditions from ploughing right through to direct-drilling. It will also work as a grassland rejuvenation tool. Prices start from £23,500 for the 3m version.
