South west farmers open farm to kids
After nearly two years of planning, Mark Pope and Rob Walrond opened Staple Farm near Taunton to 800 local schoolchildren this week, as their contribution to the Year of Food and Farming.
The following photo gallery was produced by Olivia Cooper:
Preparing seedbeds is a “primary” activity.
Nothing beats hands on experience for learning about food.
Children were told about the old ways of farming…..
….and the new.
Learning outside the classroom appeals to all.
Mark Pope and Rob Walrond played hosts for the day.
Are you holding an event during the Year of Food and Farming? If so, we’d like to hear about it. Please e-mail details and pictures to philip.clarke@rbi.co.uk
