Oh yes you guessed right again - the hunt is still on. We didnt even see him last night!
I got the quad and drove the woods where he normally runs and then settled down, and lay flat out in a pile of sheep poo and nettles - it really is the good life init!
His bate was there, but after a load of fog coming in and then it throwing down with rain, we abandoned ship. Got back at 1AM and reviewed tactics (this is technical you know!). Our new plan is to go early in the morning, so if you see some bloke driving around with beaming head lights and a rifle at 4AM, you aren't getting surrounded by the SAS its more like being surrounded by ESS (not english springer spaniel, extremely stupid shooter).
Oh, and just to add to the annoyance of not seeing it, picture this - young lamb stuck between two fences where tree's are planted, trying to get through the sheep wire to get to its mother, young farmer comes along and decided to get him out, lamb wont have any of it which forces young farmer to run half a field, chase it down and then dive in front of it to catch it at midnight.
Happy Days.
