Are growing crops for Bioenergy good or bad for farmers? What's your views

    Hello Forum readers,

I was wondering whether I could plug my questionnaire on the forum. It is aimed at farmers, and would just like to know your thoughts and views regarding growing bioenergy crops. It is for my studies Big Smile and would appreciate it very much!

Please click the link below if you would like to take part in my questionnaire (won't last longer than 5 minutes)

Also if you have other comments do stick them on to this forum too, as I'd like to know what folks think of growing bioenergy crops.

I have put a bit of background of my studies...

Barriers to Bioenergy ? Background of Research at the University of Bath

Research is currently being undertaken in examining the constraints that are placed on the development of bioenergy in the UK. The work forms part of a joint research effort funded by the UK Energy Research Centre and Great Western Research. The scope of the work is to conclude the most critical barriers to the development of bioenergy in the UK. We are contacting the various key individuals in the bioenergy industry to help identify and verify the most important barriers and drivers.

The purpose of the study is to examine the relationships between several, either unsuccessful or slow developing, bioenergy projects in the UK and obtain a perspective of reoccurring barriers. This information will then be used by stakeholders throughout the industry, providing solutions to the barriers. In addition, solutions will also be produced, to any possible problems preventing the drivers from being implemented.

Through consultation with individuals throughout the industry, we aim to identify, verify and analyse the key ‘barriers’ and ‘drivers’ to the development of the bioenergy industry in the UK. This methodology will be conducted throughout the supply chain of bioenergy development. The aim is to assess the constraining patterns that may emerge between the different stages of bioenergy development. The primary drivers and barriers to bioenergy development have been identified through initial research, and are proposed in the questionnaire.
