    Finding Land to Graze Sheep?

Hi, I'm new here, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I'm hoping to start keeping a few sheep (5-10) in the near future, I don't have enough land myself, so obviously finding some is my first main concern. My question is does anyone have any suggestions where to start looking? I live in southend, essex, and I'm having a bit of a time finding somewhere! Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I think you are going to have to rely on word of mouth and any contacts you might have. You aren't going to be looking for a very big area - so it might be worth just driving around and keeping your eyes peeled for a bit that looks a bit unused, because perhaps it is too small to be of much commercial use. If you can then ask around and find the owner, you might be able to strike a deal.

You might try an estate agent who sells properties with 2 to 10 acreas. One of his 'clients' may be glad of a grass cutter.

In Shropshire there is a "flying flock" scheme where you can register if you have grazing land available, or need grazing land, don't know if this exists in other counties.

Shropshire, where time stands still and life is never simple.
