Twin beacons I'd say. I see a few with lightbars and really dont like the look of them.

No-one knows what I do until I stop doing it!

twin beacons are far cooler than light bars. But light bars are probably better if you're doing a lot of road work, especially hedge trimming on the main road.

Ive got a New Holland T6010 Plus, (100hp) coming shortly...

I only really want them on as we do a fair bit of road work, hauling silage with a 14 tonne trailer, 32 foot bale trailer and the 10 foot John Deere mower...

How hard is it to find a matching beacon, to accompany the factory fitted one from new holland??

LOL you cant put twins on a tractor of that size. Wouldnt dream of putting em on our TS100A. Gotta be 6 cyl. Good luck with the 14t trailer, ours struggles with a 10. Not the gutsyest of tractors to say the least.

Oh, well i thought id ask you lot what you thought first, mite leave it with one or get a light bar instead. Suprisingly enough, only yesterday i had the 14 tonne trailer on a TS100, and i managed to keep up with the TM155 who only had a 12 tonne trailer on...

i'd go for one of the smaller light bars, keeps it looking good and more practical for ya

good luck with your new tractor pulling a 14 tonner, especially if you fill it up with wheat! Get ready to use bottom gear. We had 2 14 tonners and they used to make our 150 hp tractors grunt. plus they push like hell down over hills. But I'd still go for the twin beacons.

twin beacons everytime, as for your tractor size you will be dropping down the gears with a 14tonnner! i drive a 6920 and that can grumble with a 14tonner still we do have some new 16 ton bailey trailers to use, just dont dump ya clutch going down hill if your brakes aint much good!

Working hard for an easy life whilst trying to sus the leader out...

Right, before this goes any further, the trailer ive been using for hauling silage was a Marston, Ace 14 tonne trailer with the sprung drawbar and up an over door. It may sound stupid, but those older Ace trailers are nearly a tonne lighter unlaiden than the new Ace range, and the majority of the time the silage aint that heavy.

But thanks for your comments on twin beacons...

It should be far cheaper to get your dealer to fit a second beacon when he PDI's your tractor and if you're worried about image looks better too.

As for the silage trailer i don't see what the all fuss is about, lads these days ain't happy if they can't go flat out up every bank. I remember when we had one of the biggest trailers around, a 10 ton and used to pull it with a Fiat 640 2wd. Could be a bit hairy when tipping mind if the grass weren't for coming out!

Im glad someone agrees with us using a 100hp tractor. At the end of the day, we only use it when  3 trailers are needed on a job, and the rest of the year its just use for grassland duties... With the price of fuel as it is, it just isnt worth storming around with 140hp when only 100 is needed...
