The reason why u always chek your stearing linkage befor you drive

Ok so monday came along and we decided that the wether was good enought to go and start pumping manure me in one truck learing the job and another guy in with me and the other truck working with just a driver. Well all was going fine till the other driver called us on the 2 way and told us he was in a ditch no big deal only he forgot to mention the ditch was a bever pond. so we drove out to him and found this

After mutch head scratching we decided that me and the other guy would go and off load our 3500 of manure return to the farm to get a chain and reffil to go and pull him out. So we empteyd refilled and returned to pull him out. pulled him out no problem untill we got him onto the road and looked at his pasinger fron tyer.

I should at this time mention that the drivers side tyer was facing strat foward and this one wasnet. On futer inspection it turned out that the rod that conects the two sids together for stearing had snaped causing one weel to go one way and the other the other causing the crash.

The 200ft trail of destrucktion left by the truck.

off 4 trucks that started that day 1 was still going at the end

O and my new toy for playing in the mud:)

I've had a track rod break on me before, luckily i was in the yard loading muck. Luckily I was able to get another track rod and was up and running after a couple of hours. It's not one of those things you automatically think about checking though! I know people who have had wheels fall off before, A good reason to check wheel nuts and bearings though. Don't forget to grease bearings!

I have had the shaft coming out of the steering box snap but I was in the yard and was able to steering with the brakes and my dad has a wheel come off before.

I think that grease stuff is something like farmers sun block
