Farmers Weekly Awards 2007 - tonight is the night

The 36 short-listed farmers will tonight find out whether they are winners in the 2007 Farmers Weekly Awards (follow the link to find the shortlist). All the finalists deserve congratutulations - the fact that they will be there shows that they are demonstrating innovation and expertise in challenging times (and for the livestock sector these times are VERY challenging).

This thread is for people who attended the event to leave their thoughts and for others to leave messages for the winners.

I was priveleged to be in the Great Room last night to watch the awards being presented - along with about 900 others - it was pretty inspiring stuff - my congratulations to all of the winners, all of them are fantastic ambassadors for British farming, I havent found myself in a photograph yet - perhaps just as well!

Would Darling consent to identifying the photo she is in so we can all admire the hairdo?

(PS Did you get your dance in the end with the object of your intentions?)

I will leave it to Darling to identify herself! Don't want to rob her of her anonymity without permission. Big Smile

Everyone is saying ......it is the do of the year. Fab night. Well done Debbie Beaton and FW...can't wait till next year.

On a serious note .. congrats to my mate Sarah and hubbie on winning Countryside Farmer of the year. And utterly deservable John Geldard -a really lovely man 'Farmer of the Year'.

Glad you had a great time - I shouldn't worry about the photos, everyone looked fabulous. ("Scrubbed up well", I think is the local phrase round here!)

Reading the achievements of all the finalists is a source of inspiration for those of us (i.e. me) who haven't quite got into the 20th Century yet - let alone the 21st!  Congratulations!
