  • Who's afraid of discussing pesticide prices?

    Is the subject of spray chemical prices just too sensitive for anyone to comment on? Mention the wheat price and most people are prepared to spout about how dire it once was and how much better it is now. But ask them about pesticide prices and they clam up.     One of our Barometer farmers tells me that he has "the distinct feeling that the chemical industry is inflating prices on the back of the wheat market". We've also been told that a well known seed dressing was temporarily unavailable at the end of last week. What's your experience?...
