    Thanks for your posting, Yes I'm aware that Hugh had been on an "enriched poultry" unit and I have no problem with this side of the sector, the message I was trying to get across was that quite frankly, retailers must do much more to promote standard chicken production methods regardless...

    I agree with your comments on the programme. However I was sorry that no mention of the costs of the two systems were made except at the very beginning with a brief comment that producers were only paid 3p a bird for the intensively reared product

    Hi After years of keeping livestock, dogs and horses I admit I am new to keeping hens this year.. coping with everything fine except red mite... today found traces in all 2 new hen houses depsite using poultry shield often... tried dettol also and blowtorch in the worst affected part of the worst arc...
