Events help hone skills

THE HOME-GROWN Cereals Authority is holding two events in May to help hone cereal growers‘ grasp of the grain market.

The Milling Wheat conference, in association with millers‘ group NABIM, will take place near Cambridge on May 5.

Leading millers and industry experts will explore the changing needs of the consumer, international benchmarking and how to meet buyers‘ demands.

HGCA senior economist Gerald Mason will also deliver his market outlook, summarising the factors that will influence the crop‘s uncertain future.

The morning conference will be followed by a milling wheat workshop session exploring “Collaboration in the Milling Chain”.

Turning market volatility from a threat into opportunity will be the focus of a seminar held in London on May 10.

International experts will give an insight into risk management practices, such as the use of futures and options, in the US, Canada and Australia.

A Chicago-based expert team of risk management trainers will host workshop sessions on applying risk management principles to various industry sectors.
