(Tuesday): After a cold, frosty and locally foggy start, it will be fairly cloudy across the southern half of the UK at first but with sunny spells developing through the afternoon, especially across west Wales, south-west England, East Anglia and south-east England. It will be cloudy and breezy across Northern Ireland and western Scotland with patchy light rain arriving from the west by evening. Elsewhere across the UK it will be very cold but dry with spells of sunshine.
(Tuesday night): Much of the UK will be dry with a widespread frost and increasingly clear skies. It is going to be an extremely cold night away from Northern Ireland and north-west Scotland where it will be windy and cloudy with patchy light rain in places. Cloudier across East Anglia and south-east England.
(Wednesday and Thursday): After another cold and frosty start, it will be mostly fine on Wednesday with good sunny spells across most of England and Wales. Staying fairly cloudy in the south-east corner though. Windy with more persistent rain moving into Northern Ireland and north-western Scotland but milder here. Cloudy in the north on Thursday with outbreaks of rain. Mainly dry and fine across the south with good spells of sunshine. Staying cold.
