Canopy management of individual varieties of oilseed rape is NK Seeds‘ key message at Cereals.

To maximise yields, the aim is to achieve an optimum green area index through correct nitrogen management. Optimum GAI is considered to be 3.5, but this is the average of all OSR varieties – usually conventionals on mainstream sites. NK Seeds is investigating whether individual varieties have unique optimum GAIs, and the effect of soil type or region.
