The full proposed RB209 revision, to be known as the Fertiliser Manual, should be delivered to DEFRA by the end of the month, Keith Goulding of Rothamsted Research confirmed.
“It will then go to peer review with an aim to publish in the autumn.”
Many of the sections were complete, he said. But some N recommendations were still to be finalised. “There is still some debate over how to calculate them, and whether you analyse all trials together, or separate out old and new trials, old and new varieties, or both. The newer varieties, for example, seem to have a different shape to the N curve.”
A meeting of stakeholders next Monday [16 June] would make a final decision, he said.
