Combining pea yields and quality has generally been good this harvest, PGRO‘s Anthony Biddle says.

Most south-east crops of marrowfats and blues have produced excellent colour and skin quality, with some yields of over 5t/ha, while a few northern crops of Zero4 also yielded at that level for the micronising market, he reports.

In East Anglia, most marrowfat crops were expected to be harvested by this weekend, with yields of between 3.5-4t/ha, although the colour of blues has been variable and rain has caused some bleaching and skin splitting.
