BAYER CROPSCIENCE finally has provisional approval for cereal fungicide Fandango, a co-formulation of strobilurin fluoxastrobin and triazole prothioconazole.

It will be marketed as a T1 option in second wheats.

Approval for DuPont’s new mildew fungicide, proquinazid, was rejected at the latest Advisory Committee on Pesticides meeting in January.

But the firm remains optimistic it will be able to achieve approval in time for a launch in 2006.
