Mr Gorringe said his “winter barley is not looking fit for harvest yet”.
This is mostly due to the weather. Despite this, things are going well for Mr Gorringe.
“I’m quite happy. This is the first year I’ve had decent crops to look at.”
Mr Gorringe is looking forward to harvesting his barley crop in the middle of next week.
“I’ll be getting itchy feet next week”
He grows five different varieties of feed barley: Camion, Saphron, Antelope, Haka and Heligan.
Mr Gorringe is frustrated that he hasn’t been able to mow his 56ha (140 acres) of rye grass due to the recent poor weather.
