“Things are going very well,” said Mr Hues.

“This is the best year ever.”

He said the only problem was a volunteer wheat crop growing among the barley.

The barley crop was coming in at 7.41-9.88 t/ha (3-4 t/acre) with a specific weight of 65 kg/hl and moisture content between 18-20%.

Mr Hues intends to finish harvesting his last bit of barley later on Monday (July 19).
