Harvest is progressing – albeit in a stop-start way for some – which means FWi users have already uploaded more than 400 photos to our Harvest Highlights gallery.

The gallery provides a pictorial record of who’s cutting what and where – and if you grab a photo or two while you’re harvesting and put it in there, you could be in with a chance of seeing it appear on the front cover of Farmers Weekly magazine.

Here are just five shots from the gallery:

Paul Garfoot, manager at Lowleys Farm, Great Leighs, Essex, clambers up to clear the header once again (above). Although the pods were fit, the stalks were still very green, so snarl-ups were a regular occurrence. The picture was taken on 2 August in the first field of winter OSR. The variety was Sesame and the yield was 4.3t/ha. Thanks to Frances Bowen for sending this shot in.

Redfarmer---NH-2

Six New Holland combines gobble up the last of the Batko wheat at Andropovsk Farms in the Stravropol region of southern Russia. Nine were actually on duty, but three managed to escape farm manager Robin Jewer’s camera. Cutting about 300ha a day at 11.5% moisture, 16 trucks were kept busy carting away the grain. At 12,500ha, the farm grows wheat, linseed and sunflower.

Sidster-Simon-Lexion

FWiSpace forum user Sidster snapped this eye-catching shot of a Lexion 480 Evolution parked up in a field near the village of Ashow in Warwickshire. With the driver’s seat empty he didn’t manage to find out whose machine it is. Do you know who it belongs to? Let us know by emailing fwfarmlife@rbi.co.uk

Carl

Carl Ashfield, from Newmarket John Deere dealer Ben Burgess, sent us this arty shot of the company’s S690i demo combine working in barley with 35ft header and tracks.

Ian-Mason-Topliner

This is Ian Mason’s shot of a Deutz Fahr HTS 5690 harvesting Cassia winter barley in North Yorkshire, with an Agrotron 150 on grain carting duties. It was yielding 9.4t/ha (well up on last year’s 7t/ha) at 18% moisture.
