A technical conference next month looking at the hidden resource of soils aims to help farmers make more from their soil.
The one-day event, Soil – the hidden resource, will be staged at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Tuesday 22 October.
The event will reintroduce delegates to the basics of soil and nutrient interaction, explain the benefits of carbon for soil quality, and discuss application of micro-organisms and their role.
British Grassland Society’s (BGS) George Fisher will also make a hands on assessment of various soils and their potential.
“Soil is the one natural finite resource which is vital to our future food security yet it remains a hidden asset,” says RABDF chairman Ian Macalpine.
To register for the event organised by RABDF and BGS contact 0845 458 2711, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration cost, £60+VAT (£50+VAT for RABDF or BGS members).
