Agronomy companies Masstock and UAP have announced they will rebrand to form Agrii.
The two came together in March 2011, when parent company Origin Enterprises purchased UAP in a deal understood to be worth £37m.
Masstock needed to increase the size and scale of its business to meet the challenges of the future, said Declan Giblin, executive chairman of Agrii.
“The coming together of Masstock and UAP gives us the scale required to meet the needs of UK agriculture.”
Agrii will be investing significantly in research and development to provide the best service to the large customer base and heritage of both companies.
“Research and development will be core to the business,” said Clare Bend, head of technology and services. “Programmes will be tailored to what customers need and what agronomists are looking for. We will aim to continue to strive for sustainable yields.
“There will be a better connection between agricultural science and practical agronomy,” she said.
