A new free encyclopaedia of oilseed rape diseases has been published by ADAS and BASF.

Designed to be a practical aid for agronomists and farmers, it covers high-profile diseases, such as phoma and sclerotinia to more minor problems like white leaf spot and viruses.

Each profile contains a description of symptoms, colour photos and clear diagrams, illustrating how the disease attacks and spreads through the crop, plus tips on control.

Copies are available at HGCA/ADAS open days at Rosemaund and Boxworth in early June, from the HGCA stand at Cereals 2009 and through the BASF website (www.agricentre.basf.co.uk).
