Yields are better then expected at Roger Mann’s farm Warwickshire with the only problems being the need to cool oats down and some of the oilseed rape being too dry.

Gerald oats yielded 2.5-3t/acre while Castille and Lioness oilseed rape achieved 1.5t/acre.

The warm weather with the odd shower was ideal for the farm which has harvested its entire oats and 80% of its rape with wheat next in line.

Rape moistures are varying from 3-4% moisture up to 10-11% after a shower giving a “reasonabhle” average moisture.
