BASF has launched another herbicide containing metazachlor + quinmerac for use in oilseed rape. Oryx improves activity on cleavers, fool’s parsley, field pansy, poppy and sow-thistle compared with Butisan S (metazachlor).
Katamaran and Novall are also available containing different ratios of metazachlor + quinmerac. The former is targeted where cleavers are a particular problem, while Novall is more for general broadleaved weeds. Oryx fits both situations, according to BASF’s Diane Heath.
