Open Farm Sunday on Sunday (12 June) will showcase all that’s best about agriculture, with farmers across the country opening their gates to visitors.

Now in its sixth year, this nationwide initiative will give the general public a chance to “discover” farming. It gives them a snapshot of the sights, sounds and smells of a farm – plus helps foster a better understanding of the story behind the food on their plates.

Farmers Weekly is once again supporting this LEAF-organised event, so we want to showcase your photos from the day.

If you’re one of the 350 farmers getting involved, why not take some pictures – whether it’s of a farm walk, a tractor ride, a nature trail or a farmers’ market?

We’ll be publishing a selection on our website, FWi, and in the 17 June issue of the magazine, so we’d love to see yours.

Open Farm Sunday is, after all, a photogenic event, with over 200,000-plus visitors expected to attend 400-plus farms.

There are various ways you can send us your pictures:

1. Upload them direct to the gallery:

Go to our designated website gallery at www.fwi.co.uk/ofs2011photos and load one/more picture(s) direct into it. It’s simple and only takes a few seconds. All you do is click the “add picture” option in the “My Tasks” box on the right-hand side, then insert a few details as prompted (you’ll need to register with FWi, if you haven’t already done so, but this only takes 90 seconds).

2. Email us:

Email them to at tim.relf@rbi.co.uk

Remember, time is of the essence. We’ll be choosing a selection of the your shots for the magazine on Tuesday 14 June, so we’d need them by then.

You don’t need to resize photos before you submit them, and they can capture any aspect of the day – crowds, kids, animals, live demonstrations or just general fun on the farm.

Don’t forget to include your name and a line or two of details about where the picture was taken as we want to make sure you get a nice name-check if your picture is used.
