PESTCIDE AND CANCER LINK UNDER REVIEW

THE GOVERNMENT”S Advisory Committee on Pesticides has said that research into a possible connection between prostate cancer and pesticide exposure should be monitored and kept under review.

SURVEY

Following a research survey, the Committee on Carcinogenicity found that prostate cancer may be linked to pesticide exposure and that farmers and farm workers appeared to be at greater risk than people in other occupations.

The Pesticide Safety Directorate issued a statement saying that the “CoC recommendations indicate no reason for concern in the light of current knowledge”.
