Tickets for Cereals 2012 go on sale

Tickets are now available for the Cereals Event, to be held at Boothby Graffoe in Lincolnshire on the 13-14 June.

Last year’s event attracted record numbers of visitors, with 27,000 people going through the gate in search of the latest technical and business advice for the arable sector.

With cereals prices remaining strong, assisted by the lack of rainfall in the UK and Europe, growers are urged to coax more yield from their crops.

“Achieving maximum yield to make the most of the strong market in these drier conditions while controlling costs is a real challenge and is something that UK growers may have to face more often in the future,” says event director Jon Day.

“Whether you are looking for the latest varieties, the most up-to-date advice on blackgrass control or how to minimise establishment costs, the answers will all be found at Cereals 2012.”

Over 470 firms will be exhibiting at the show, with new attractions including a careers initiative, a soil and water management trail and the Chlorpyrifos: Say No To Drift campaign.

The careers initiative will outline prospects for new entrants interested in a career in the arable sector to attract new blood in the industry.

Visitors will qualify for two NRoSO points and four BASIS points for attending each day and in addition there are opportunities within the event to earn extra points.

Tickets for The Cereals Event 2012 cost ÂŁ22 each (ÂŁ18 for students) and are available through the Cereals website.
