Norfolk tenancy on 900-acres plus

An FBT of almost six years on more than 900 acres in Norfolk is one of the largest arable lets to come on the market.

Barmer Hall Farm is just over 915 acres in total, of which 903 acres are arable, currently cropped with winter wheat and oilseed rape in large, easy-working fields.

The land is Grade 3 land with coarse loam and sandy soil in a compact block about seven miles west of Fakenham.

It is owned by a family trust, which says it is looking to build a long-term relationship with the new occupier, with the possibility of setting up a contract farming agreement once the initial tenancy term is up.

Barmer Hall Farm is to be let by informal tender, with tenders to be in by 12pm on 23 November. As well as tendering a rent, prospective tenants will have to provide a statement on proposed cropping and environmental management.

A general-purpose building that has been used for grain storage is included and the landlord will consider investment, including grain storage and irrigation, in future. (Brown & Co 01603 598227)
