New broiler general manager for Moy Park

Brazillian-owned poultry integrator Moy Park has appointed Barney Kay as general manager with responsibility for the company’s broiler operation in GB.

The outfit currently produces more than 2.5 million chickens a week for Moy Park’s processing factories in Anwick, Lincolnshire and Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

Mr Kay joins Moy Park from the NFU, where he has been north-east regional director, and will be based at Anwick â€“ the hub of the company’s GB agriculture operations.

With more than 15 years of industry experience, he will bring extensive agricultural knowledge and expertise to his new position, and will play a key strategic role in maximising broiler performance and service levels across the business, said a statement.

“Across the agri-food sector, Barney has an outstanding reputation and a strong track record of delivering results,” said David Gibson, director of agriculture at Moy Park. “His combination of experience and knowledge of the food industry will prove invaluable in his new role.”
