Emily straw spreader uses triple walking floor

French maker Emily is the latest firm to offer a telehandler-mounted straw shredder/bedder.

Called the Sigma, it has a patented triple walking floor and a hydraulic block for farmers with handlers with low hydraulic flow.

Two hydraulic motors drive a cam that activates the triple floor. Once the bale has been loaded, the user can choose the “turbine” setting, which brings the turbine to its rated speed in about five seconds at which point the walking floor is activated.

If the turbine speed drops, the walking floor and rotor stop automatically to ensure that the turbine always runs at its rated speed. A joystick allows the chute to be swivelled.

Square and round bales can be loaded into the machine. Price starts at £12,900.
