Ian Ashbridge Bsc (Hons) MRAC MIAgrM


Ian is Business and Economics Editor for Farmers Weekly and Editor of Farmland Market. He oversees all FW’s coverage of business management, property, and food chain issues as well supervising all prices and trends information for agricultural commodities and inputs. He also contributes material to Crops magazine and Farm Finance.


Ian Ashbridge is a graduate of the Royal Agricultural College and has worked on a range of farming systems in the UK and New Zealand. He has hands-on experience of dairy, arable, beef and sheep farming and previously advised several rural businesses on farming and land management issues.


Ian’s reporting covers agricultural business and economics news and analysis, and he specialises in farm management. He is also a guest lecturer at the Royal Agricultural College on agricultural media and communication.


In 2006 he was selected as a John Edgar Trust Farm Management Scholar and is a Council Member of the Institute of Agricultural Management.


Ian lives on a small sheep and arable farm in Wiltshire. He is a FACTS adviser in fertilier use and nutrient management planning.
