Patrick Stephenson, an independent crop consultant from Pickering in Yorkshire is the 2007 Farmers Weekly Arable Adviser of the Year, sponsored by Crops magazine.

Stephenson impressed the judges with his enthusiasm for his work and close relationship with everyone involved in the business.

Colin Myram an independent consultant and one of the judges in this category commented: “Patrick’s endless enthusiasm for all things farming, and his ability to spot an opportunity for both himself and more importantly his clients, caught the judges’ eye. He showed he offered his clients much more than just agronomy advice.”

Over 100 farmers have entered in this year’s Awards with more than 30 businesses in the line-up reflecting the very best that British producers can offer across 12 categories.

The Awards’ aim is to recognise innovation and achievement among individual farmers as well as celebrate excellence within the industry.
