Joanna Lumley... and a pair of Clydesdales

There seems to be no end to Joanna Lumley's list of venerable talents. Fresh from overturning the government on the resettlement of Burkhas, the former AbFab actress has now turned her hand to ploughing.

Last weekend saw the still stunning Joanna don some boots (albeit very elegant ones) and work a pair of equally beautiful Clydesdales at a ploughing match held at Ellisland Farm in Dumfries and Galloway.

Incidentally, this is the farm where Robert Burns wrote many of his famous nature poems (my blood still runs cold at the memory of having to get up on stage at our local music festival having to recite 'To a Mouse' . Having an English accent didn't help).

I wonder what Joanna's next triumph will be... Some reckon she should run for parliament...

Freudian slip, Emily. You wear a Burkha to cover your face (although I am glad you don't wear one to cover yours - it would deny chaps a great deal of pleasure). I think Ms Lumley helped resettle Gurkhas which is a bit different. Either way, she is a remarkable woman although some of her views on farming are a bit suspect.

Oh good gracious! Thank you for pointing that out! I've blogged again...

Therefore, you will need to grow a thick skin to handle the negative criticism.

Thank you for letting me know that I'm not the only one who is struggling with personal debt.I lost my job recently and have not been able to find anything in my field.I have cut up all of my credit cards. And I now always pay cash for everything.I didn't figure that I would ever get into this kind of a situation.

A finances ought to never be a financial hunger diet. That gained’t work for the long haul. Make cheap allocations for meals, clothing, shelter, utilities and insurance coverage and set aside a reasonable amount for leisure and the occasional luxury item. Financial savings should always come first before any spending.
